Mary StarkMary is one of the principals and a cofounder of The Stark Consulting Group, Inc. (SCG) since its inception in 1993, providing expertise in the areas of technical management, systems analysis, systems & software development, and process improvement.  She has over 30 years experience in technical and management positions with high technology companies ranging in size from small startup to multi-division, global industry leaders.   She has played a major role in the definition and development of complex technology products, and is experienced in all phases of development process methodology.

In consulting as well as corporate roles, Mary has proven skills in problem analysis and definition.  These skills are complemented by her ability to understand and define complex problems and to reduce this complexity in order to define simpler executable strategies for resolution.  This often leads to the leveraging of tools and technology to facilitate solutions.

Mary served as a major payment network’s representative to the ANSI ASC X12F Purchasing Cards standards Work Group from 1996 through 2002.  During that tenure, she developed a nationally recognized expertise in purchase item detail reporting (Level III data) for corporate purchasing cards.  Mary also has proven skills in assisting clients in developing a clearer definition of their business goals and a refined business strategy to better meet them.  Her in-depth understanding of data and process flow plus her unique systems perspective have enabled her to support clients in defining and achieving better business solutions for their unique challenges.

Recently, Mary led the process redesign team of a large regional bank in compressing their purchasing card implementation cycle.  This project involved not only process redesign, but also the development of new tools to assist personnel in driving better decision-making and presenting a consistent face to the customer.  As part of this project, Mary also developed a powerful set of tools to improve consultative sales skills and derive additional revenue opportunities during the client account review process.

From 1988 to 1993, Mary was associated with DataCard Corporation. In her role as Director of Engineering for the electronic terminal division, she directed a multi-geographic, multi-disciplined engineering group.  Prior to Datatrol, Mary was the founder of a successful software development and consulting firm, which she operated for ten years.

Mary graduated cum laude with a B.A. Degree in Mathematics and has done post-graduate work at the University of Minnesota. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
